Recommendations: Veronica Roth – Divergent.
Hi everyone. Today I have spent the day writing and planning for future posts as well as taking some new book photos and spending time with my family. I hope you’re all having a lovely day too. This post is a simple recommendation of the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. I enjoyed diving into this world so much and I never get bored of it. No matter how many times I read them. Here is the little bit of information from the back of these lovely books. If you would like some more spoilerless information, I’d love to help you out!
1. Divergent.
Sixteen-year-old Tris is forced to make a terrible choice. In a divided society where everyone must conform, Tris does not fit.
So she ventures out alone, determined to discover where she truly belongs. Shocked by her brutal new life, Tris can trust no one. And yet she is drawn to a boy who seems to both threaten and protect her.
The hardest choice lies ahead.
2. Insurgent.
Tris has survived a brutal attack on her former home and family. But she has paid a terrible price. Wracked by grief and guilt, she becomes ever more reckless as she struggles to accept her new future.
Yet if Tris wants to uncover the truth about her world, she must be stronger than ever. . .because more shocking choices and sacrifices lie ahead.
3. Allegiant.
The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered – fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties and painful memories.
But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature – and of herself – while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
4. Four.
Two years before Beatrice Prior makes her choice, the sixteen-year-old son of Abnegation’s faction leader does the same. Tobias’s transfer to Dauntless is his chance to begin again. Newly renamed ‘four’ he discovers that his initiated is only the beginning. . .
Four must claim his place in the Dauntless hierarchy. And his decisions will affect future initiates as well as uncover secrets that could threaten his own future – and the future of the entire faction system.
Two years later, Four is poised to act but the course is still unclear. The first new initiate who jumps into the net might change all that. With her, the way to writing the world might become clear. With her, it might become possible to be Tobias once again.
So there it is. The four Divergent books. This is such a good series that essentially holds up a mirror to man kind and it’s treatment of people depending on their personalities and characteristics. And then there is the fact it’s just a great read. I hope this encourages you to pick up a book and read.
Stay Curious!
